April Skies

Venus will continue to dazzle us with its brilliance in the early evening sky. A special treat happens this year on the night of April 2nd when Venus will skim through the left side of the Pleiades star cluster about an hour after sunset. This will be fun to watch through binoculars or a small telescope.

Magdalena Marshal’s Blotter

Feb. 17
An officer took a report at 10 a.m. where a juvenile female was dropped off in Magdalena by her parents and abandoned. The female was located and a report was sent to New Mexico Children, Youth and Families for assistance.

Socorro Community Youth Fishing Derby

A day of fishing for Socorro County youth is coming up with the annual Community Youth Fishing Derby on Saturday, March 31, at Escondida Lake, beginning at 8 a.m.
