Feature Film, The Banshee Chapter, To Shoot In Socorro

Nick Maniatis, the New Mexico Film Office director, announced Thursday, Aug. 18, the independent feature film The Banshee Chapter, will shoot in and around Socorro and Albuquerque.

Production begins late August until mid September, and will employ at least 35 New Mexico crew members and more than 20 principal and background talent.

Produced by Sunchaser Entertainment’s Stephanie Riggs and Before The Door Pictures, Corey Moosa. Interactive and transmedia director Blair Erickson wrote the screenplay and will make his feature directorial debut on the project.

The Banshee Chapter centers on a young, female journalist who follows the mysterious trail of a missing friend who had been experimenting with mind-altering chemicals developed in secret government drug tests. A fast-paced blend of fact and fiction, the film is based on real documents, actual test subject testimony, and uncovered secrets about programs run by the CIA.
